Ok.. I did a search but didn't find too much. I just got (2) Roswell R6 I want to install this weekend. I am looking for details about hiding the wire in the tower and how to hide it into the boat. I will attach pics of my set up. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Is the tower hollow all the way to the legs? Meaning open at the bottom? I doubt it. But if it is, run it through the hull there and never see a wire.

But most are not, and mine is just a couple of inches exposed at where the tower hinges so if I fold it, wires won't hold it up.

Then it's covered with that cheap wire covering you can get at an automotive place with two small zip ties covering it. While it sounds ghetto, you never even notice it unless you talk about it. Just drilled a hole in the hull and then put a small dab of silicone on the inside to prevent water from running in. With the wire cover, you never see anything.

Looks like this, but is black.

As for fishing it through your tower, good luck. I haven't a clue. I make sure I get it pre-wired just so I can avoid this. But let gravity be your friend, start from the top, and try to feed it down. I would imagine it could fish pretty will on a smoothe tower like yours.

Tie string to a plastic lunch bag and insert that into the highest hole, then use a shop vac on the lower hole. Things should work out for hiding the wire in the tower.

Definitely use the wire loom haugy posted to hide the wire if you can't keep it in the tower the whole way. If the vacuum idea Nor*Cal suggested doesn't work, an electrical fish tape or rigid copper wire (12 AWG) can work well too. Can you post up some close up pictures of the tower legs and feet to see what you have to work with?

Just a suggestion, but i would run a toggle switch to turn the tower speakers off unless you want them on. That way you can sit back and relax without blasting tunes across the cove. good luck!!

Good point on the toggle switch... I know they make a volume module that you can control the different speakers independently. As for fishing the wir, I am going to use piano wire I think.

You could also run some sort of pre-amp equalizer that allows you to control volume seperately.

i had the same idea as haugy, but instead of using the plastic wire covering, i used that stainless steel shower head hose.

drilled into hull enough for wires, caulked beveled base to hull and then rand the other end into tower 1/2" and caulked it, blends in with the tower WAYYY better IMO, attatched with SS zipties aswell.

~$30 from homedepot for 5ft hose and 30 SS zipties

chawk how did you get the wires through your tower legs? I spent a few hours over the weekend being totally unsuccessful! I tried sucking various fishing lines with pieces of bag and toilet paper through with the shop vac but the string never made it to the other hole!!

Get a fishing tape Pat. That was the only way I could do it! Use electrical tape to attach it to the metal fishing tape... slowly work it through.

Well, I borrowed it. How large did you drill your holes? Mine are 1/2"

I drilled a smaller hole on the tower leg and planned to make it bigger when I got the wires there to pull them through (5/16" maybe?). The problem is that where the wires enter the top of the tower the hole is about the size of your pinkie finger going straight down (this is where the wakeboard rope attaches) for about 2in then makes a 90* turn which makes it very difficult to get anything in there.
I am going to try it again this weekend and may remove some of the bolts as they are likely stopping the string from being sucked down...

I finally got it!! I took the 2 bolts out from the top of the tower and that definitely did the trick. After removing the 2 bolts it took maybe 30 seconds to suck it to the exit hole I had drilled.

thanks for the suggestions guys I'm glad that is over with haha!

Congrats! It is a right of passage to deal with running wires in a darn tower!
