Where is the 750? and what speed?
We usually fill the factory ballast minus the nonsurf side. I think my buddies boat has a 250 front, 500 center, and 250 on either side in the rear. We usually fill another 250 and put on the surfside in the bow, then fill a 500 on the floor on the surf side. It makes a huge wave, but the pocket isn't nearly as long as the one in your pictures. I have wanted to put more ballast in the rear on top of the factory since it is only 250. The setup we use is nice because we can quickly roll the 500 to the other side and move the 250 in the bow to switch surf sides. |

Stock ft bow , stock floor hall , stock rear all full, then 750 in goofy side in hatch next to engine . Power wedge on 9 , speed 10.8-11.0 . 4 people in boat all sitting behind driver . Left side empty , no extra sacs , only the extra 750 on goofy side . Are you using a wedge ? power ? floating ? or standard wedge ? The power wedge really makes the surf wake on a 23 ft Malibu |

Its a power wedge. Seems we usually set it about halfway or maybe 3/4 of the way towards the biggest wake, I don't tweak with that much. I think he has the pefect pass set at about 10.4, so maybe we need to speed up a bit, which should extend the pocket. Surfing the big wave is fun, but I would rather have a longer pocket.
Thanks for the input. |

My buddy just got his 2012 23 LSV, and we had trouble cleaning up the starboard side wake. We didn't put the 250 in the front as I described in an earlier post, but other than that everything was the way we used to do it in the '08. It was almost like the wave was breaking immediately as it was all falling ontop of the board even right at the boat. Any ideas? Did they change prop rotation direction between '08 and '12? Though I doubt that would make that big of a difference. The factory set speed for the Surf Right was 9.0mph, but we cranked it up to 10.4mph which didn't help. It was kinda of wierd because my first pull the wave formed up nice, but didn't cooperate after that. Then when we rolled the 500lbs to the other side, the port side formed up fine???
Thoughts??? Suggestions??? |

Diesel loves riding in ANYTHING that moves ! The Jeep is his favorite !with the top off .
Not sure about the 2012 wake ? Do yall have power wedge ? Sometimes we have to drop ours and " reset" it to clean up wake ?
Missed most of the summer this year , busy working , very HOT outside , and WE are having a BABY !!! . So my wife only rode 2 times , then she sat out the summer . We are having a little girl in Feb 2012 ! so lots of surfing and wake pics to come in the future !! My she will be the next Dallas Friday riding for Malibu |
