We got the opportunity to visit with the folks from Inland Surfer and they arranged a little double boat surfing while we were there. This is a blast!

Does that allow you to get a lot further behind the boat? Maybe it was a wide angle lens camera, but it looks like you guys are way behind the boat.

It's way back there. We started with a 21 foot rope tied off the tow eye on the transom and that still wasn't at the back of the bowl. You sort of had to toss the rope and start pumping Smile I'm guessing it's between 25 and 30 feet from the transom, depending upon the boat speed.

I don't have any wide angle lenses, it's just a point 'n shoot digi camera. I think those are from a Sony Cyber Shot Smile

That looks so cool. We're talking about figuring out trying that sometime before the season is over. Any details on speed, weight and distance between boats?

I don't have specifics, but I know the Inland guys off-loaded a bunch of ballast on the one boat. The chase boat had a pump issue, so they couldn't get rid of any ballast, instead they moved folks around in the boat. Speed was manual, they turned PP or whatever it is on a Centurion, off. They were traveling between 12 and 13 mph. In the pictures I took, there appears to be about 3 or 4 boat width's apart but I know that Mark motioned for the Chase boat to get a little closer. I guess all of the work is on the chase boat, the main boat goes straight and sets the speed, the chase boat matches that speed and comes in close enough that the two wakes intersect. It's a blast!
