So I've been trying to wakeboard for a number of years, usually get the chance once a year. End of last year I bought my own board in hopes of going more often. Well this year we had our 2nd child so didn't get out as much as I'd like but much more than in other years.

Question is when trying to keep the handle at my lead hip my shoulders and arms seem to tucker out long before my legs. Any good exercise routines to help with this other than just wakeboarding more?

Yes my board is big enough 145, I've been trying to keep weight equally distributed and boat speed around 20mph. I feel very comfortable on my toeside so far just working on healside more now.

Any tips are appreciated.

If your tiring out, your probably doing waay to much more work than you should be. The handle doesn't have to be touching your lead hip if thats what you've been trying to do. Should be in a relaxed postion off your lead hip. My arms are never bent so I really don't even use any muscle, if your trying to pull the handle right into your hip you are just fighting the boat and tiring yourself right now.

Watch a couple videos and you'll see no one has the handle right on their hips and arms are pretty much straight.

If that is what you are currently doing, start doing some pull downs and chest flys at the gym. Work your shoulder muscle and chest muscles. You don't have to lift heavy weights and bulk up, just need to wake up the muscles your body isn't use to using now.

You need to hit the gym and do upper body work.

Got a chance to go out yesterday and tried to do less and just keep it pulled in when edging harder and arms not bent all the time. I think it worked better as arms didn't feel too bad by the end of the day.

Thanks for the tips on pull downs and chest flys. I'll try to add those in.
