These are few still shots from last weekend. These are my first attemps at jumping and are from three different attemps. Any advise is welcomed.

The pictures are in "bit.nap" and won't allow me to change it. I am not a computer wiz. Any other way to post the photos?

Stand up tall at the top of the wake. From looking at the pictures, you are keeping your knees bent (absorbing all of the energy).

Hold the handle lower. Also, pull it in closer because it looks like you're being pulled forward a little.

Are you using a progressive edge? To do this, go outside the wake and flatten out until you feel the boat pulling you back in. Then, edge back into the wake with a progressive edge. Make sure you keep it progressive all the way through the wake. You want the most aggressive edge when you hit the wake.

Looks like they are there now. They were not in there the first time I looked. WhackedRampage has you heading the right way. You need to be leaning hard on your heelside edge all the way through the wake with a progressive edge. You also need to stand up tall and not bend your knees as you go up the wake to get the most pop possible.

Read through the w2w and jumping threads in the newbie forum. TONS of good info in there with pics, videos, etc. from other guys asking for tips. Get some video of yourself, if possible. It is a great tool because you get to see what you look like and know what you think you are doing behind the boat. You often find that those two things are not even close to one another when you compare them.

I saw this video on another thread and thought you might like a look at it. It's hard to tell you what to do when all you have is pictures, and everyone here seems to have covered most of the bases. The only thing that I can recommend, and I tell anyone that goes on the boat and struggles with air is to go out as hard as possible on your heel edge and feel what that is like for a bit. That is the position you should be in when you are cutting your hardest into the wake during your progressive edge. So far as getting high goes, you should keep equal pressure on your legs and stand tall when you are at the wake. If you are used to snowboarding than this is pretty much the opposite of what most people do. As someone already stated, just pulling your knees up will absorb the wake. Once you get used to keeping a solid base you will be thrown across the wakes.. Good luck!

If I could provide any help and try to relate the whole straightening your legs, I would compare it to jumping on a trampoline. When you try to jump high... you press off the trampoline and go up. When you jump suspension bikes, before you jump, you preload the suspension and it extends off the jump which shoots you up in the air. your legs are the suspension if that helps at all.
