It's that time of year my fellow Albertan Riders!
We have a 4 stop tour this year that as always is designed for riders of all levels and all ages. We promote an encouraging environment that is geared towards fun and meeting fellow wake enthusiasts. An added bonus are the free t-shirts and prizes available!
The first stop of the year will be at Lake Isle on July 17 (20 Lake Ave, Gainford T0E 0W0 - WSR Wakeboard School). Registration starts at 09:00 and goes to 09:30 with the contest starting shortly thereafter. The cost for the event is $30
The second event will be held in conjunction with the Chestermere Waterfest on July 23, 2011 (Lake Chestermere which is located 30 minutes east of Calgary). Registration for the event starts around 09:00 and goes to 10:00 with the contest starting shortly thereafter. I'm not 100% sure on the cost of this event yet.
The third event which is also the Alberta Wakeboard Provincials will be held on Saturday July 30. At Alix Lake (Town of Alix, 30 minutes east of Lacombe). Registration for the event starts at 08:30 and will go until 09:00 with the event starting shortly thereafter. The cost of this event is $50.
The fourth and final event will be the Bonnyville WakeNShake "Wake “N” Shake is the official name of the event and will be held on Saturday August 6th 2011and the concept behind the name is to have a wakeboard competition with an X- Games feel. Along with the official divisional events there will be a Rock Band competition, entertainment such as dancers, trick skateboard demonstrations, BMX trick riding competition, fun events for the crowd to win some prizes" The exact start time of the event and the cost are still awaiting posting but expect the event to start around 09:00 and the cost in the $30-$50 dollar range.
We hope to see you there!
All of the events will require a WSWA membership available from www.wswa.ca

The Chestermere stop will cost $30 if you requre WSWA membership and $20 if you already have it.
The Bonnyville event scheduled for August 6th was cancelled around 17:00 hours yesterday. The organizing group cited the cause as a lack of sponsor comittment. With only two weeks remaining they felt it safest to cancel the event. |

That is too bad about Bonnyville being cancelled. We should hold one up here in Sylvan lake. The water conditions could be questionable but there would definitley be attendance. _________________ 2010 Watson Hybrid

A big thanks to all the competitors who showed up for any and all of our wakeboard contests this year. It was great to meet some new faces and to spend time with old ones. Special thanks to all our sponsors, hosts, and event staff! It couldn't be what it is without you!
Great seeing you and your family there Levi! |

They need cool places like that in Michigan. Sounds like a good time. Enjoy. |
