Im now a proud boat owner at age 17, but my boat is not only an an-teak, it has a 140 in it, and the wake is minimal because it is made for skiing. I am working on a budget and would like to have a bigger wake, a little more take off power, and a wake bar. The problem is it has 3 10" subs, about 150 pounds of fiberglass, 6 other aftermarket speakers, and a heavy amp, in it already. Is there a way to do all this with minimal weight and on a budget?
thanks, CWB2011 _________________ life is a lake... swim or die! |

im cunfused, you want a wake bar, i assume you mean a tower or pole to life the rope, if thats correct look up flyhigh wake pylons, they are the cheapest and best i found. at 199$
also, you say you want a bigger wake but are complaining about the weight of you sound set up? weight is the biggest factor right along with hull shape on your wake. adding weight will be the only easy way to increase the size of your wake.
i currently have a 19ft glastron I/O that has been poorboyed with a flyhigh pylon and loaded with about 1500lbs of iron plates to ballast it lol. |

the reason i said bar is cause i don't know whether a pole or a tower would be a better investment, i wasn't complaining i was just saying i cant put too much weight in it cause i already have that. most the weight is under the backseat, wouldn't i want it up front for bigger wake? _________________ life is a lake... swim or die! |

the cheapest towers out there are going to be upwards of 600$ and those may not be compatable for your boat, the pylon will by far be the cheapest and easiest option.
no, weight at the back has a much bigger impact on wake size, however if too much weight is distributed to the back the boat will have a very hard time planing off on top of the water.
for instance i can put 300lbs at the back of my boat and it will never plain off, but i can put 800 lbs on the back as long as i have 200 in the front and 500 in the middle. it takes a while but it still planes off. |
