So my family has been bugging me to put a list together for them for christmas and bday (coming up as well).

Maybe its because im 30 and dont really need anything anymore, but I'm struggling putting anything together.

What are others putting on their list this year? Maybe I can steal a few good ideas and get that too.

I'm in the same boat with you. Don't really need anything and when I do, I go out and buy it for myself.

I've told both my folk and in-laws we should get each other the same thing... NOTHING!... for Christmas this year. The fighting crowds, worrying about the perfect gift, the money, and the headache just isn't worth it. I'd much rather just spend time with my family and tell the economy to get stuffed! no ae - you aren't that bad. you work for a good company and you pimp their new gadgets here every now and then. no sweat.

i find the older i get the less i have that i really want at xmas. not that i'm opposed to cool stuff, but i just don't get in that mindset. if i want something cool, i just buy it myself.

QFT!!

Christmas has become so overrated and commercialized. If it wasn't for my kids, I'd say screw the holiday. Bah humbug!

After my new 4 wheel toy and its accessories, I think Santa's bringing me what I deserve, a stocking full of coal.

I am with you guys though. Christmas gifts lost their luster when you started paying for them them yourself.

Cash or gift-cards for projects around the house (I'm pretty sure I'll be asking for Lowes gift cards for the rest of my life at the rate I'm going Cool )

I'd say look at boring stuff that you wouldn't buy for yourself. Need a new vacuum? Tupperware? Other stuff that makes you sound old/lame?

i got a great dewalt cordless set last year...

I even got a new dyson vacuum couple of years ago for my bday.

i agree with mostly everyone - anything I want now, i just go out and buy on my own.

I'm not much for shopping but I'm a great buyer, now I understand why my Dad was hard to shop for as a kid. Same tendency to buy what you need/want.

If family asks I just tell them to buy Brooks Brothers shirts/ties. Keeps me from spending more money on work clothes than I need to and leaves more money for other desires.

HAHA... LOL'ing at this. Had this happened to a chick, she would've flipped out.

I'm asking for my family to pay for phd applications. That's going to cost me almost $800.

All the things I want have to do with the business I'm starting, and they want to buy me something different. Something personal I want. When you focus on one thing so much you buy what you need and forget about what you wanted.

your at the age where now you just buy what every the hell you want for Christmas.

I just did my christmas shopping for myself and picked everything up in Spokane on the weekend. couple of ideas for you maybe.

Well the grinch christmas sweater. It lights up and hopefully wins the ugly sweater contest at work on Thursday.

Leaf blower for the snow on the driveway and sidewalk. This thing kicks ass, don't know why I never picked one up till now.

A couple of Naish Kites 10.5 and 13.5 M bar and lines as well as a couple of golf travel bags.

I bought 4 proficient ceiling speakers that Chavez suggested for the house.

Some artwork for the house. Matching Chrysler and Empire state building pieces.

Picked up some parts of the Mustang.

What's a trip to the US with out hit the Nordstrom Rack for some clothes...

WHat else... hmmm oh got the torch and I'm a big fan, really like it Alter!

I'm done all my christmas shopping and just making my list for what the Easter bunny is going to get me...

I picked up the wife's Christmas present up last weekend and went ahead and gave it to her. She's big into embroidery and dress making so I got her a brother pr650. Basically, I've got a wakeboard whenever I want free card out of this one!

If any of you guys need anything monogrammed - koozies, hats, shirts, etc. she can hook it up. If you want a stocking for your dog with it's name on it, your initials on towels, some crazy design on a hat, or some other stupid crap like that, lmk.

I always list things that I wouldn't mind having but wouldn't go out and get myself. typically something that if I don't like it I don't end up pissed because I spent money on it. I think a Callaway I-mix driver is on my list with a fujikawa shaft.

By the way, our older son came out to get a drink last night when my wife and I were watching the show. We were chuckling at the fact he was walking back to his room rrrrrreallly slow.
