Pop, then rotate. You're more than likely trying to spin too early. get a vid for us

yep..sounds exactly like you are trying to spin too early, something I know a lot about coming from the snowboard world.

as mentioned, go up, then spin. remember to give yourself enough rope to spin with too meaning as you are just about to leave the wake, give the handle a good pull so you can move the rope around to the cuffed position as easy as possible.

The mantra I tell people to tell themselves when trying any spin is, "Pop. Pull. Pass." A video would help, because it could be your edging too, remember you want a lot of pop without a ton of line tension.

ok ill try that and try to get vid.

im looking over my shoulder, so i dont think its me looking down at the water, when my back is to the boat, thats causing too much lean against the rope and away from the boat.

It's probably a combination of leaving too early and too much line tension. Kyle schmidt had an article or video portion talking about the "ollie edge". Edging into the wake you have to kinda put the idea of a progressive edge on the shelf fo rthis trick. When you cut into the wake, the amount of speed you first initiate with the cut, you should remain constant, not harder as you get closer to the wake like a progressive edge. If I was a pro wakeboard instructor it might make more sense. Any links or references guys?
