Hey guys,

I just ordered a 2010 Liquid Force Faction and can't wait to get into wakeskating. I've only wakeboarded up until now but I can't wait to get out and try this sport out.

Any tips for a first timer would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

trevordj, The best advice is to have fun! Wakeskating is pretty difficult so don't get frustrated!

I've been doing it for years but I still suck. For me, it started as something I did once I got tired wakeboarding but it soon became something I did exclusively for about 3 years (Just started wakeboarding again last season).

Get comfortable with your board. Carve around, ride with and without fins to see what you like best. Do boardslides on the wake. They're all little things that are fun to do but will also help you get familiar with how the board handles.

Something else useful is to pick-up a skateboard for those days you can't get out on the water. Knowing how to ollie and do FS 180's on a skateboard helped me a lot!

skye120, GnarShredd, Just got it in the mail today. Thanks for all the advice, I am heading out to the lake tomorrow night to give it a try. I'm getting pretty stoked.
