So, I've been lurking for quite some time, and have finally gotten a decent boat and have been able to get up on the board a few times. My problem is, when I'm up, I don't feel stable at all. It feels really loose and I get to the point where I get sideways and that's it for me. I'm sure it's got everything to do with my technique, but I don't know what to work on. I'm running the fin on my board, so I thought that would help, not so much.
Any ideas? |

If you can get some video it would help a lot. Other then that, be sure you are twisting at the hips to square your shoulders to the boat. Keep the handle in close to your lead hip, and lean back against the rope. _________________

I'll get some video if I can, but it sounds like I'm doing it all wrong. This rain needs to go away so I can get back out there and try try again. |

go watch the relentless crew's instructional vids on youtube or sign up for learnwake.com and go over the basics of body position and edging _________________ Lithic, LLC, my biz

| I'll do that. I ended up re-positioning my bindings and that helped a little. No vid, horrible chop, but I was more stable. |

| The first time I tried wakeboarding that is exactly how I felt, the board sliding all over and little or no control. For me it was the fact I had way to much weight on my back foot and did not understand the concept of edging. I have a background of surfing and slalom so I tend to think of using the rear to carve with with wakeboarding it seems to be all about the edge of the board. I have just started wakeboarding the correct way and once I got my body position correct and got more weight on my front foot, keeping more of the board in the water with more surface to edge with, now I feel in complete control and can carve back and fourth fairly well. Now I just need to practice not face planting when I try for big air. Try just keeping a little more weight on your front foot and to turn press your toes down to go one way or heels down to go the other |

| I am relatively certain that was part of my problem. I was back out again yesterday for a bit, and I'm definitely feeling better. I did move forward a little. Now it's time to learn the concept of edging! |
