Has anyone tried building up the underside of a binding to accomodate a leg length difference.

I had a cycling accident back in 97 & my left leg (forward leg) is now 30mm shorter than my right leg. In my normal shoes I have orthotics with a raise to accomodate part of the shortening. I have had custom-made cycling shoes with a larger sole made to make up the difference.

Now that my wakeboarding is progressing I am thinking about how to go about raising the left boot to make me more level & take some pressure off the back.

Any thoughts Question

I would think you should have no problem shimming it up. Just put a plate of some sort between the binding and the board. I would say a thicker rubber to try to keep the weight down. Metal would be too heavy and rust. 30mm is a little steep though, no matter what you're looking at some extra weight on that boot.

Enygma, that is what I am thinking, the rubber should keep weight down & will shape better to board & binding.

It would also make it easier to shape to the bottom of the plate. I will track some down & test it out.

Cheers
Brad. Very Happy

you may need longer bolts to accomodate the shim. So maybe bring one to canadian tire and get something slightly longer. You don't want only 1 or 2 threads to be holding you to the board;)
