With no offense to WakeboarderDave, this is the perfect perception of those in rural "Mizzouruh." This dipshit won the Powerball. Hopefully he spends a G or two to get those choppers fixed:

Quote: | For Powerball winner, life goes from not quite rags to definite riches
By JASON NOBLE
JEFFERSON CITY | Chris Shaw makes $7.25 an hour and has $28.96 in his bank account.
Well, at least for now.
Shaw, of Marshall, Mo., won Wednesday’s Powerball lottery jackpot — becoming $258.5 million richer literally overnight.
Of course, it’s only $125 million if he takes the lump-sum option.
The 29-year-old bought a ticket as his shift at a Break Time convenience store was ending Wednesday evening, but he didn’t get around to checking the winning numbers after they were announced that night.
On Thursday morning, he learned the winning ticket had been sold at his Break Time. He went in to check his ticket and, well, you can guess the rest.
By 5 p.m., he was at a news conference at the Missouri lottery’s headquarters, talking to the cameras, posing with the woman dressed as a big red Powerball and accepting that big cardboard check.
“I have nothing — had nothing,” Shaw said. “Right now, it’s just like a shock, like a dream. You just feel like you’re going to wake up at any moment and it’ll be gone.”
In all the excitement, Shaw was calm and collected. He has no grandiose plans for the money. He’ll pay off debts. Pay the bills. Buy his girlfriend’s two sons a bike and a skateboard.
“We didn’t come from money, neither one of us,” Shaw said of himself and his girlfriend, Tosha Ewry. “For us, it’s just a big relief to be able to know I’m going to be able to pay my electric bill, pay my gas bill, things like that.”
Shaw is the biggest Powerball jackpot winner in Missouri, and one of the largest winners ever.
When prodded on what extravagances he would indulge in, he said he’d like to take his children places he’d never been able to go — like Disneyland or Universal Studios.
“My kids now, they’re going to be able to do the stuff I didn’t do,” he said. “That’s going to be great.”
Shaw said he missed the Powerball drawing Wednesday night because he was out buying a used truck — a ’98 Ford Ranger that needs a new engine. On Thursday morning, before he knew his ticket was a winner, he learned the repairs would cost $3,500.
“When I was talking to them, I didn’t know anything, so $3,500 was like $3 million,” he said.
“Now it’s a little bit different.” |

Seems like an okay dude, so good for him. Better than some tool winning.

I read he is going to fix his teeth as well. I live close to a few towns that are filled with people like that, most of them are great people, just don't have any sense. I am glad to see him win it instead of somebody who has it made already.

Wow, you guys are serious Dicks, this is the exact type of guy that the lottery was designed for...
Dude works for minimum wage and can barely pay his bills. He probably comes from a long line of uneducated people with zero ambition or value for education. Good for him.
And despite what you guys say, he sounds pretty level-headed. It's the ones that start spouting off about buying houses and cars that lose the money. Maybe he'll be just fine.

We gotta make them pay taxes somehow.
At least it's "optional"
The odds are against him, like most lottery winners. I hope he enjoys the loot and makybe he'll be lucky / smart enough to use the money wisely.

DCdave56, look at the stats and find out where lotto winners end up 5, 10 years down the road.
And those stats include people who are relatively educated as well. This guys isn't.
Unless he already went to the right people before claiming his money, he's screwed.

I say we keep tabs on him, see how it turns out. I truly hope he proves us wrong but, as arof says, the stats are against him.

Yah, I'm sure that the vast majority of us would have a tough time understanding how much that kind of money really is. He also needs to do immediate child support, one-time, settlements with his baby mommies or he is screwed. I think people often times buy houses and cars without understanding the upkeep and taxes on these things... A million bucks could go really quickly...

On a side note at least he was already using the best hooks on the market.
Gamakatsu is definitely the best hook out there.

Can someone please photoshop some teeth, a tie, a shave, and a tan on this guy so we can see what he'll look like in 6 months?

That's exactly what I thought. He must have some sense of what quality is. I'm guessing is that he's already at the nearest Ranger dealer picking out custom colors for his new bass boat with a 300 on the back.

Maybe he's going to move to FL with this guy?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Winner Of Florida Lottery Opens Nude Dude Ranch!
He won a cool $3.3 million jackpot, so what did winner of the Florida lottery Tim Clements decide to do with his money?
Open a nude dude ranch of course!
Tim proudly opened the doors for business just a few weeks ago using his winnings from the Florida lottery, but local Brooksville neighbors saw his new sign and started asking questions. And county code enforcement officers were drafted in to check out the ranch.
And unfortunately Tim didn’t realise that providing B&B facilities and spaces for RV’s needed local authority permission, so clothing optional ‘CJ Dude Ranch’ is in danger of closure before it even gets started.
Even if Tim gets permissions he’s still up against a county ‘no public nudity’ policy in force since 2002. But he’s still optimisitic, “my place is so private,” he said, “and I’m always out washing the bus in the nude.”
So the nude cowboy dream is not over just yet. His website still proudly proclaims:-
We are Clothing Optional but you must wear pants and boots to ride the horses.
That rule is a no-brainer right? As Tim says, “you don’t want blisters on your behind, do you?”.
And if you can’t open a nude ranch when you win the Florida lottery, then there’s just no justice in life is there
I'd be guessing the the "mothers" of his three kids are going to want a few more dollars a month now. Hopefully we find out this guy is addicted to meth as well, so he fits the "rural" Mizzourah stereotype!
Seriously? I know plenty of people who bust their ass at a job(not a gas station clerk) daily and went to school. And you are saying this guy deserves the money more than them? Maybe if he wanted to be something other than a gas station clerk he should have paid attention in school. Just because everyone else in your family has never given a stuff about school, doesn't mean he shouldn't.
At least now we can say he has an "equal opportunity" for upward mobility. Let's see if he capitalizes on it or squanders it away. It would be fun to keeps tabs on him and see how he ends up.
I understand where you take offense to the "uneducated...no ambition" quote but I can say with confidence that that stereotype exists for a reason and it fits quite well.
Take a 100 mile radius around Lake of the Ozarks and those are the people you will find. Not saying they aren't good, nice people. They are probably the nicest you'll find, but they aren't educated and don't have the ambition to succeed. Are there exceptions? Of course, however, I truly believe the "uneducated/no ambition" types are more the rule than the exception in those areas.
