|
|
| Looking for some help. We are looking at used wakeboard boats. I have pretty much norrowed what I want down to a Supra Launch. i do not want anything bigger than the 22SSV. I have found a '05 21V that I really like (colors and condition). I was talking with a guy who has an '04 22SSV for sale and he mentioned that the wake is not that great on a 21V. Granted this was coming from someone trying to sell a 22; however, he said it without me even mentioning I was looking at a 21V. We are by no means pro boarders; however, I have a 14 year old and an 8 year old that are taking it pretty serious and are getting really good really fast. The wakeplate and Gravity III ballast are both standard on the "05 21V. Any opinions on either or both? Thanks. |

| You will not be dissapointed in the 21V. It has a very deep hull so you can really sink it....not that it's needed but the wake can get HUGE. It is a bit steeper than all of the other Supra wakes but it is very nice with just stock ballast. Put 400 lbs on each side of the engine and the 1150 in the locker and you will love it. |

It's a nice wake, pretty similar to the old SSV wake really, it gets a nice steepness with the right weighting. Overall length wise the 21V is real close to the old SSVs but it feels bigger on the inside, the taller freeboard probably has a lot to do with that.
The only thing I don't really like about the 21 is the rear facing seat behind the driver, that's where the cooler goes. So unless you want to use the built in cooler there isn't a good place to put the cooler. It's not that big of deal but I don't like stepping over the cooler all day. Also the cushions on the corners of the rear seats will fall through sometimes if you step on them. I jacked my ankle up pretty good in one of my friends boats when it happened to me. |

| i used to own a 21v. it has (when weighted correctly) one of the best wakes out there. i've owned a lauch ls, a ssv, a 21v, and now a 22ssv. i will say i like the 22ssv better because it has more room for storage and friends, but the wake on the 21v can get super steep! it intimidated some of my friends their first few sets. on the 21v, we put 400 lbs of lead in the front locker & a gg front locker bag on top (@1100 lbs). we put a 650 lbs bag on each side of the motor. the wake was ridiculous!!! i had the 325 hp motor & wakeboard prop on it....never had a problem outta the hole. the guy talking about the 21v wake sucking is ill-informed. there a bunch of people on here that love those boats. post this on wake world too. a bunch of those guys are supra owners. if i didn't get such a smoking deal on my 22ssv, i'd still have it! |

Not all 21v 's have a rear facing seat behind the driver.
The 21v wake will be way steeper than a 22. That guys was just being a "salesman" Go out and test the boats yourself, loaded and un loaded, ride behind them both, rather than relying on opinions from people on here...... |

As someone who has face planted many-a-time behind wake_eater's 21v, I can concur with this. It's seriously one of my favorite wakes ever, it's like hitting a brick wall it's so steep, love it. _________________ '05 Supra Launch 24SSV |

I own a 07 21V and my wake has suprised many team edition natique owners whom were a little worried by the steepness of the weighted down boat. You will love it sick boat for thr price. |
