I just got an 89 supra comp last weekend and there is no rear seat. So I am thinking about building a rear seat for it.

Just wondering how hard of a process this would be? I am basically thinking about just building the frame and having a seat cushion made by the upholstery shop I know of

I have the same problem with my ski nautique 89. I tried the fat seat and it worked well but I wanted something more permanent.
I bought a poly tank which fits perfect, and will act as a ballast also.

Now I am building the seat bottom which will sit on the tank.

Then I will build the back and then get them all upholstered.

I have time, notice the ice in the lake behind the boat (pic from this weekend)

I bought the tank from these guys:
http://www.plastictanks.ca/catalog.php?gclid=COLbiO-XmY4CFSCTWAodxmNjZA
They are located in Canada.
They have all sorts and can even put in threaded fitting where you want.
I also found thes guys
http://www.plastic-mart.com/index.htm
I think they are in the states.

I didn't build in any auto pumping stuff. I put a deck inspection cover in the middle and fill with abilge pump over the edge of the boat and I just put in a 3/4" drain line with valve on end and drain it into the bilge of the boat.

We can wake surf with the tank full and three adults in the back corner.

I hope this helps
I hope that helps

sorry to dig up old threads. I just joined here, and was looking through the DIY sections. I LOVE this idea.

I was looking at building a custom seat that I could put a fat sac into. But I think this will skip a step for me and get the same result. Have you got a price break down of what that tank costed.

I am wondering if my local farm supply store will have something like this. I bet they would. Then a thin covered foam padding for the top, and the rear and you have a seat, and ballast all in one.

Perfect! Keep the good ideas coming guys
