I finally have a new boat! 1988 ski nautique 2001 blue and grey

I am gonna go crazy with that thing sitting around in the cold. All i need is the temp. to go up about 80 degrees. It is 7 out right now Mad

I plan on puttin on:

PP WB Pro
Boss swoop tower
2 Nvert Board Racks
Some type of homemade tower speaker box
A couple amps
Some various speakers
1000-1500 lbs Automatic Ballast

Ill let you know how far i get through the winter. Lata

Congrats on the boat. We have the same one, except our is from 1982.

As pictured in my profile it has a pole, but we've since added a Wake Designs tower. The WD tower folds down below windshield height so the boat fits in the garage. But, the fold down process is tedious. We also converted the ski platform to removable so the length would be OK in our garage.

Once you get the automatic ballast installed, be sure to post how it works out. I'd like to know.

Our balast isn't automatic. It's a bit of a hassle filling the sacks one at a time. Basically it takes about 15 minutes with everybody sitting around trying not to trip over the pump and its hose/wires. We're thinking of going automatic so we can put some ballast in the closed bow area. A local shop said it would be about $800 installed to add sacks to the bow area, install a heavy duty pump to fill all sacks with the flip of one switch, and all of the related plumbing.

Orzech, that's the same boat (basically) I've got! Perhaps the best boat ever! Exact same trailer setup too. I love my 88' the thing is tractor heavy, literally almost no maintenance required. I don't even weight mine and still get great air. Congratulations. (Czy mowisz po Polsku tez?)

i found his boat, and there is a couple reasons why we didnt get it.

1 he is in AL and i am in NY
2 We got an 88 and his is an 84
3 nice boat, but i just like the interior better on mine.

Not to bash him, if i was in AL i probly would have got it because it is a good deal and i would not have found the 88

I used to have an '83 2001, that thing threw a huge wake with no help from ballast.

yeah be sure and keep us posted on the autoballast system. I've been thinking of adding one to my '86.

oh yeah, you won't want a 75 gallon tank in the back, with the other weight, it would never plane off.

I run two full sized sacks on either side of the engine and normally have 3 or 4 people sitting up front.
