Anyone use their tower lights to wakeboard at night? If I take a trip somewhere that I can ride at night I would get them for my boat. I don't think they'd be worth getting just for docking or floating around on the lake.

Check out the big round ones. They could light up a football field. Well....a small football field.

I've ridden at night with lights, and although the lights made it tough to see, It was'nt that bad and was fun as hell. I would like to try without the lights on, that sounds fun to.

The Boss High Intensity Lights work best for boarding at night. The most common setup is a pair of High Intensity's facing back, and a 3-light bar facing forwards.

Laughing Why do you want to wakeboard at night, the risk of injury is greater and it totally sucks.

Why not....I think it would be fun. Ever swim at night, boat at night, play football at night. It's different.

My friends and I went out last year at night. I do not have any lights on my tower, so we zip tied a couple of glowsticks to the life jacket.

Just for reference...... Boarding at night is the best!!! I'm not exactly sure what kind of lights my buddy has on his boat, but they make it really easy to see the wake. I think he has three facing backwards, and two forward. The ones that point forward are a waste if you are trying to navigate at night using them. They help seeing things in the boat, but it is kind of like using your high beams in a snow storm. There are three things that you need to be very carefull about when boarding at night:
1) Other Boats: Make sure that there aren't any other boats out on the lake, and if they are out on the lake make sure that they are sitting there partying or whatever (not riding around the lake at full speed!)
2) Your Rider: Make sure you have someone with their eyes deeply focused on the rider at all times, because when they fall at night they are hard to find. The best way to combat this is to put a glow stick on the zipper of the riders vest. This makes them extremely easy to see.
3) The cops: These guys will make your life a living hell sometimes... Last year the cops were out on the lake for some reason (they never are on our lake!!!) We were riding tandem with about 10 people in the boat, and my brother was in a chase boat with about seven people. For some reason my brother got pulled over before we did, and we were able to get all of our stuff off, and into the boat before we got pulled over. Then the cops gave us hell for having our tower lights on while under way... The exact quote was "You guys look like a damn Jeep on the water.." My question to him was "Well.... if I saw a jeep driving across a lake I wouldn't try to run into it.."
sorry about the long post

Football at night is great!! Have you ever tried it with some of those glowstick-bracelets duct taped around the ball?

They come in handy when your across the lake from friends you can flash the lights to get their attention.
We like them when cruising the river at night.

Try facing the lights outward to the sides of the boat. That way the rider can see better and he still get a little light to help. You can go down to Mexico and ride at night at Rio Harde with no hassles at all. You have to try it!
