After much consideration. I/O vs. Inboard and the 100s of boats available I think I have decided on a 1999 Mastercraft X Star. It has ballast tanks (not sure of total weight), new 325 Indimar Engine and transmission (installed by reputable dealer), tower with racks, new covers, stereo, etc. Asking price is $23,900. Canadian.
I really like the idea of a brand new engine. Is this a boat I will only want to upgrade or will it be good for beginners who think they are pros. haha
Thanks for any input

Great boat for beginners all the way uptot he best of the best. The older X star hull (now the X1, originally the 205v, then the X2) is one of the all time greats.
My only concern would be why it needed a new engine.... _________________ www.AxisBoats.co.uk | www.Malibu-Boats.co.uk |

| They said the previous owner did not winterize it, stored it outside, and we are in Canada. Thats what they told me anyways. |

valhalla, Sounds reasonable to me. When considering the cost of a new engine, the overall price of th eboat becomes somewhat of a steal.
If its all in good shape, and that engines got some warranty on it. I'd certainly consider it. _________________ www.AxisBoats.co.uk | www.Malibu-Boats.co.uk |

| valhalla, That is a great boat for any rider. That is why the hull is still around. It has had many names but the 205v hull is the main thing. Throw in some extra ballast to really beef up the wake and you will have many years of good times behind it. |

| Why didn't you buy the 1999 xstar? Did you take it for a test drive? |

There are several SANTEs in Canada for around 24-26k that are newer. Check onlyinboards.com There is a dealership up there selling them cheap. The X-Star is a good choice but I would shop around a little more first and test drive a few. _________________ Sportbike Track Time Southern Division Instructor |
