My family has allways named boats under 21 feet. We have never put the name on the boat. The names are usualy song lyrics. "Guilty""Glory days" etc. It just makes it easier on us when telling stories. "We were at Powell with Glory Days and......" The trips are classified by boat name more often then year or our ages.

Okie Boarder wrote: | Very interesting responses so far. I never realized there were such strong feelings out there for NOT naming a boat like this. Unless I find something that really clicks, I may leave it unnamed. Thanks for the ideas so far, all. There a couple in there I'm liking. | Maybe it's regional too. Everyone here names their boat regardless of it's size or use. Wakeboard specific boats included.
I dont think it looks cheesy or tacky if it is simple and put on in the size proportionately.
If you need lettering cut, let me know. We do all of that here at my company. I have a full graphics design and production department that outputs in any medium, including uv outdoor vinyl. Here is what my wife and I put on our boat, made at my work.
It was serendipity that we met, and it also is "our movie".

Well in this month's Wakeboarding Mag they have officially declared that, "this year it's not cool to not name your boat." So now it's ok for you to name it.

dbismyname, I saw that. I was laughing when I came across that article. At this point, nothing is really striking me as a great name, so I'm going to hold off, at least for now.
