What does the Ideal surf wake look like? Zero white foam was accross the top? A Pipe Line? a High Wide Wall?

Looking to start this, but not sure how to tell when I have the boat set up properly. I see so many different looking wakes in pics that people say looks awesome.

Guessing you meant ideal. A big wall of water looks impressive in a pic and in person, but its usually a short pocket steep wave that you can't do much but stand there. This usually comes from the ballast distribution being too heavy in the rear and/or too slow of a speed. A decent size firm wave with a nice long pocket gives you alot more to work with.

Since our boats are the same hull, I'll list out our deal. Port Ballast Full (800) + 350 sac in the Port locker. 350 sack in the walkway of the bow. Any crew lined up on the Port side bench. 11.5 mph.

Rhawn,

How would you set up the ballast in a 2008 Supra 22SSV for Surfing?

I read what you wrote above about too steep of a wave an a small pocket. Think this was my prob last year. Just the factory ballast in the boat tight now, but thinking of adding more. Also last year we drove at 9.8 - 10 and I think this was too slow.

Gonna get it dialed in this year......

Grinder you might start by buying a 750 lb gg fatsac to put in the rear of whatever side you are surfing on. It should connect to your existing plumbing.

grinder, I would start with speeding up. Then play with more weight in rear of the side you are surfing on and some weight in the nose.

we have a 750 in the rear of our 20ssv. it's an easy swap that takes no time. fills up the entire locker.
then use the 1000lb up front from the gg setup. you might need another 400 on the seat, but play around with that setup..
