Just got finished with a few installs in the shop. An 04 Moomba, an 04 X-Star, and my 07 Supra.

The Moomba came in with a mess. When you first opened the compartment on the port side, there were 2 batteries, 2 amps, and wires going everywhere. You could barely get a backpack in there. I built an amp rack, a single 10" sub box, and put it all together. Added a Kenwood 4-channel for 2 Wet Sounds XS650's in teh tower, and a single Digital Designs 10" woofer under the helm. Added a Wet Sounds WS-420 under the dash, and reinstalled an Alpine 4-channel for the in-boat speakers, which consist of 2 Infinity 6.5's on the bow and 4 Polk Audio 6.5's in the cockpit.

The X-Star got a little bit more. I removed 1 pair of clarion components from teh tower and replaced those with a Wet Sounds 3-Some. Instead of Pro80's, we used Pro60's. Also added a Wet Sounds Syn6 amp to power the 3-some and a single Wet Sounds XS12 in a ported enclosure. A WS-420 went under the helm, and a WS XS-10FA replaced the OEM clarion free-air crap under the starboard rear seat.

The boat came in with 2 Clarion 4-channel amps powering all in-boats, the tower, and the free-air. I moved those up on the panel, added the Syn6, and cleaned it up a bit. The boat also came in with 2 marine batteries. I ditched one of those and added a Stinger SP1700 that's dedicated to teh stereo. There's also an on-board charger/maintainer to manage the battery when it's docked or on the trailer.

On my boat....
Started with: OEM Kenwood head unit, Wet Sounds WS-420, OEM Kenwood 6.5's in bow, in-boat, and 4 Wet Sounds XS-650's in the stock cans. Had 4 JL Audio 10W0's (2 under each console) in sealed boxes, 2 4-channel Kenwood Excelon amps, and 1 1000W Kenwood Excelon mono amp.

The new equipment: With the same head unit and WS-420, added a syn 6, Syn 4, and 2 Syn 1's. For speakers I replaced the stock cans with a Wet Sounds 3-some powered by the Syn6, 6 XS-650's in the OEM in-boat locations powered by the Syn4, and 2 Wet Sounds XS-XXX 12's each powered by each Syn1. We built 2 separate ported enclosures for the XXX's. For power, I already had 2 Stinger SP1500D batteries, and added an SP800 this time for starting and accessories. I also added 3 Stinger charger/maintainers for each battery. I hid all the wiring for the chargers under one of the panels and ran a single 12gauge cord to a location in the ballast locker with a hook to hang a cord on. I've got a 25' 12 gauge cord that will be used to plug in the chargers. All I'll have to do when I get back to the dock or on the trailer is throw the cord out and plug it in.

jonyb, well I was wanting to bring my boat to you for some business. But Oh well. I guess I'll have to go somewhere else.

But I can bring the Mariah up while you work on it, and free up some space for ya by taking your SSV out of there. So what, you think it will take about 4 months to get a stereo installed? Laughing

And no, I'm not taking the damn payments while I have it.

Finished up the work on my boat. Added the Oznium LED's in the cupholders, superbrightleds.com lights in the consoles, and dual LED pucks under the swim platform. Also finished the stereo and sub boxes...

Sick as always man. Splain the under platform lights please.
And what SuperBrights did you go with? I've got a few picked out as well, but yours is the first real picture that I can see results with. Single light modules, or multiples?

Again. Nice.

haugy, check this thread: http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/3183/682213.html?1238369942

Towards the bottom I posted a picture and description of the LED's. Since it's WW, I can't just copy/paste the pic to here...

jonyb, thanks for the link. Not to question ya, but are you sure that's a 75 pod string, or a 75 LED string? It looks like about 36 pods. Just getting the specifics, because I'm using you as my guinea pig. it's $1.75 per pod (pair of Leds) correct? I would have to know because I would have to do more than you cause I'm thinking about going Red for the underplatform lights. To match the boat. Not 100% on that yet. Let me know when you water test it. I'd like to see two things:

1) Brightness in the water.
2) Did they stay on?

How did you run the wires through the hull?

I'm upgrading my LEDS on my boat this year, and I'm doing my buddies as well. Brandon with the black and white Launch. I'm doing more interior lights, cupholders, and underplatform lights.

Taz when it comes on, he goes bye-bye...

Haugs, it's a 35-pod string, with 2 LED's in each pod. Mine were upcharged .50 for the white, so they were about $2 per pod. I'll get pics as soon as its in the water at night. Water's crappy here so they may not be too bright, but for $70 it was worth a try. I just used the platform brackets on the outside, then on the inside ran the power/ground to 1 bolt on each side, then wired that to the transom light. No wires to disconnect when I want to take the platform off.

Exactly why I want to see it. Your water is no better than mine. Depending on the visibility of your white lights in that water will help me gauge if they will be bright enough in Red for my boat or not.

Are you not worrying about the water grounding out the circuit using wire through bolt setup like that? I've heard of doing it, but not on something in the water.
