After watching the Mob Group video today...excellent BTW!!!....something came into mind. Lets "wake up" and slow down!! In this age of extreme sports and trying to take it to the next level after chugging five red bulls and two monsters then going sick on anything you can come up with, I think it's getting too outta hand. Not to say that these things aren't entertaining and fun to do, but where are we going with it as sports are concerned? Where does it end?
I'd like to propose a trend for this new age in sports and our new situation as a country....I know I may be getting too deep, but lets start taken it easy again. Remember when surfers were just chillin on a twelve foot board with no rat race in site. They weren't tryin to finish one event to get to the next obligation from their sponsor. They were doing the sport to have fun and relax. Let's relax, slow down, get on the lake and follow behind a slow-ass boat and ride a fun little wave...just to relax. We don't need 25 foot airs at mach speed to get the rush. The fun of wakesurfing is taking it easy and even when it comes to competition, nobody gets back into the boat thankful that they made it back alive. They had fun doing it without taxing themselves. Anyway, getting this port to the next level involves a different attitude and state of mind. Even if you just got done shooting down a 40 foot wave at Jaws, you're still gonna enjoy the warm water of the lake just cruizin behind a boat shredding a wake.
I rambled enough. You get the idea. |
