I have been slalom skiing for many years as well as kneeboarding. I have good control with the wakeboard. But, I am having trouble getting up in the air off a heelside/toeside wake jump. I can jump wake to wake but I only get up about 3 feet in the air. What am I doing wrong?
1. Do a progressive edge( http://www.wakeboarder.com/display.phtml?id=50 )
2. Make sure you edge ALL THE WAY through the wake and dont let off your edge at all. Every tiny bit you let off your edge is a lot less air you get.
3. Stand tall at the wake so as to not absorb it with your knees.
4. Remember, its line tension, not speed that gets you air. When you're cutting in, dont think of it as cutting in towards the wake, but as leaning back trying to rip the tower off the boat.
5. Practice
don't cradle the wake with ur knee's like u do for skiing.....and pop off the wake by bending ur knee's b4 u get to the wake and releasing them on the wake _________________ Who ever said that water didn't hurt?
