man, i love the feeling of landing huge 360's into the flats and everything, but those only happen like 1 out of 5 times i try. i always lose the handle because it always pulls away from me. in the new wbm, they tell you how to get slack in the line, but i dont understand how they explain it, so if anyone knows how to make spins A LOT easier, help me out. |

you just give a little tug on the handle when you get off the wake. don't give a huge pull or you will throw your spin off and crash and die. |

Stand tall as you are coming off the wake, not too early or the line will pull you forward. You lose your tight line tension after you pop up and stand tall, so there isn't as much resistance when you tug it towards your rear hip. Pop, pull, pass, use your head to find the horizon, land it clean. |

Be sure to pull the handle down to your hip (with both hands) to start your spin - this will create the perfect amount of slack in the line for a clean handle pass and a smooth landing. It'll also help keep you on axis by centering your weight at the point of rotation.
Just remember, too much slack and your landing won't look clean - plus you'll get a jolt and a mouthfull when the line snaps tight again and jerks you over the front of your board. The line should be pretty tight when you land - just like on a normal w2w air. Keep your weight evenly distrubuted as you spot your landing and kinda "stomp" the board down to keep yourself from slipping backward on the landing. Works for me. And what I tell everone in spinning threads, tie a rope to a tree and practice the handle pass before you hit the lake. Initiating the spin correctly and a clean handle pass are the keys to landing spins. |

People always have that problem and ask for slack. I always have to tell them it isn't about slack, it's about when and where you initiate the spin. When you spin off the wake it creates forward pull and you can't make the pass. When you wait untill you are half way across the wake and then pull the line will still be just as taught, but you won't have that forward pull. You will be traveling the same speed as the handle and the pass will be effortless. When you first leave the wake you are still being tugged forward by the line and that is what makes the pass hard. Just wait longer than you think you can and you will get a quick, effortless spin. |

tie a ski rope to a tree in your yard and run a little bit with the tension in the line, then jump (off of something like a little trampoline if u want more air time) and practice like that. Itll help you get comfortable with waiting to initiate the spin. Thats how i teach my buddies handle passes, always works! _________________ yeah Crownsville Air Force! |
