I am getting ready to move to Virginia Beach and I am looking for some good places to ride. I would prefer fresh water because my boat has never been in salt. It looks like that is going to be an impossable request though.

Whats up guys, check out DCWake.com. there's a couple riders from the VA beach area. LKA and SML are a little drive, but worth it. we plan to be down at LKA soon, water temp is still 75 some ride well into Dec on the warm side.

NKCrider, it's been a little slow over there for a while. But there are about 6-7 people from VAbeach that lurk.

Are there many wakeboarders in the area? How is the water in the chickahominy river? Is it pretty clean or do you have to fight for good water? What is LKA and SML?

fish, theres maybe 10 wakeboard boats. we ride near rockahock campground/ walkers dam. around 9-10 in the morning everyone leaves and 6-7 at night is when everyone comes back, otherwise its clear all day. SML is Smith Mountain Lake, LKA is Lake Anna?

Cool, I appreciate the info. I am glad to hear that there are some riders out there. I am going to be moving around December so I will be looking forward to doing some riding.

fish, I'm down here in Virginia Beach.
I know some spots to ride. Only one that's fresh water. The rest is brackish.

Send me a PM if you want. I'm also one of the guys over on DCWake.com.

Its getting to be that time. I am now in Va Beach, and was wondering if anybody has been in the water yet? I found a Malibu dealership in Chesapeake and they said that they all ride right there, so if anybody wants to start riding I thimk I will be getting wet soon.

fish, R U in the Navy? Only reason is because I was stationed in Goose Creek for training and then in Norfolk. Sounds strangely familiar.

I am going out this weekend. If anybody has any suggestions near Chesapeake or wants to meet up I will gladly accept. I heard of a couple spots but im not sure exactley to ride. I was told of a spot down by NC that alot of people ride at. Anyway I would like to get out and learn some spots and meet some local riders.

Fish,

Just saw this post. We have our boat at Centerville Marina (in Chesapeake) and go out on it or our buddie's X-45 every weekend we are in town.

We usually do early morning sets on the NW river, it is empty and glass from 8-noon.

dondon, I also live in Chesapeake. We do a lot of riding in the river down by the NC border. It is an awesome spot to ride. I am always looking for people to ride with, most of the crew I rode with has moved. I am currently in Afghanistan and will be back at the end of August. I am definitely ready to get some hard riding in.
