Anyone been hit by a flying board?

So today we are riding down the river and I'm on the back left of a friends X-9 and the next thing I know a board flies out of the rack and smacks me square in the head! The pull clamp things that seem so convenient were latched but evidently they didn't have enough pressure to hold the boards. Just curious if there is a adjustment for those pull latches on the Master Craft towers or do we need to strap the boards as well?

Luckily there were no scratches on the boat and the only thing it did to me was make me bite my tounge! Confused

Yes I have sitting in the back of a boat and it sucked. I thought I was dead. The board came flying off the rack, hit me in the head and knocked me out.

I have had a speaker fall on me before but never a board.

I had a buddy get whacked by a board once that came loose. We were riding on my friends Tige' and the Tige racks used some goofy rubber on the bungees and they turned your hands black. (UV broken them down ) so we didn't always strap boards in. Hit him pretty good.
