Alright, I've heard from people that have been rode with Grubb and there saying he was testing like a protype wakeskate with like an extened tail like a little lip or something i dont know what to call it, maybe like a kick tail, but he can like manual when he puts weight back there.

I doubt it they just made the Catalist wich is on backorder for like two months at boarders paradise, why would they be testing a new board like that i dont think wakeskating is going in that direction.

juswan2ride, pros are always trying to come out with new boards for the next year. just cuz a board just came out doesnt mean they are not looking for new shapes and what not.

Yeah i understand that they are always trying to improve their boards. I have last years Grubb board and i Can already do some sort of manual on it. Just put your weight back on the tail and wala you are pulling a manual.

I worked at OWC last night, and Ike and Jeff Heer were out there with a prototype skate that had more of a skateboard-like nose and tail. Ike's not much of a wakeskater, but I saw him pull at least one nice ollie. He also says that he likes the prototype more than the catalyst. I must say though, that when I rode the catalyst, it felt like it had absolutely no pop (compared to my 41" 3-D), I mean ollies seemed like they were impossible!

Oh yeah, Shannon Best made a cameo appearance on the cable last night with his group of U.S. touring kiteboarders. It doesn't even look like he's been away from a cable for a couple of years!

Do those kicktails look like anything kampus has, or are they larger? Anyway, I was speaking to a kampus rider almost a year ago and one of their riders was pulling manuals on those decks, so to me, the idea doesn't seem entirely new. Maybe hype is trying to develop their own or something.

Grubb was at TSR last weekend and currently he is still riding the 2003 catalyst. However, they are indeed testing the prototypes and the one with the bigger kicktail, i hear grubb really didn't like. I do like the 2003 catalyst though (getting the byerly cause it be better for my size). Maybe it was just grubb's board taking hold of me, but i personally though the thing popped better (once you get used to it though, big difference in pop feel). I landed my second 360 bs pop-shuvit (no lip, at the cable) cause it just floated up so well. I'm definitely going to get the byerly, but ripping off the eva top and putting on some griptape.
