Try not cutting hard, once you turn let the rope tighten then start edging towards to wake. _________________ Also Calskater23 |

i can only seem to get about 12 or so feet outside the wake so i fell the need to cut hard so that i can get a good lift off the wake _________________

Edge out until u cant cut out any more then come to a standstill for a short time then that will enable you to carve back in nicely on a tight rope.Thats what i do anyways:) _________________ A day not wasted is a day waisted... |

If you say you can cut hard but you can only get 12 feet outside of the wake then there is a problem. You need to spend some time edging out in the flats. Practice your heel and toe carving and learn to edge farther out.
Don't get me wrong, you don't need a ton of room to make a good wake jump, but the point is to be able to have good control of your board and take it where you want it. _________________ GET YOUR DAILY DOSE!

Ya, just flatten the board out for a few seconds once you edge out as far as you can. This will slow you down a bit and keep tension in the line. Might as well work on ollies at the same time. _________________

cut out
COAST, board flat
youll feel the rope and boat get tight again and start to naturally pull you in.
and that moment cut back in. depending on rope length this can take as much as 2-3 seconds.
12' seems a bit little but more than enough to clear the wake, pop is about standing tall and stiffing, not about hitting the wake at 89mph and starting way out away from the boat. _________________

Try leaning back more when you toeside edge. And keep the handle at you hip. _________________ Also Calskater23 |

JUst practice your progressive edge and your toeside edge. I can go wake to wake behind an outboard with a short pylon with enough pop for 3's and BR's. It takes a good progressive edge. _________________
