Landing Back Rolls

Other than keeping your eyes open...LOL...

Try to spot the landing while you are up side down, I look for the foam of the wake you are landing on. keep the rope in tight to the hips the entire rotation and think about landing back foot heavy. I did 5 rolls in a row before I landed my first one it takes the repetition of doing them until you get it cuz once you do the trick is cake.

ya, even if it takes ya a long time to land a trick, once you land it for the first time, you will be able to land it more easily after, atleast thats how its been for me

yeah I totally agree. It took me 2 months to land it, but then I landed it 3 times in a row. Go figure.
so yeah, now they're no prob

A agree too, but my problem is, that I land it sometimes very easy and other times, I don't land it. I don't know what I'm doing wrong...

So, what's your personals secrets to get this trick landed?

I think that everyone who is landing a trick has it's own secret on how to do it...and I would like to know them to be able to try them out...I would really like to land the backroll (hs) regularely.

voegi- I know what you are sayn', some dayz the tricks are effortless and other dayz you can't land junk.

I understand what you are sayn' that each person has their own secret to a trick, something that works for them. I would love to know everyone's secret to a particular trick, like you. It would give me more options to try so I could get it right in my head but it would also F me up some as well.

knowing everyones special secret would be great but it really wont help YOU, it's what helps them. I look at it more like what are the common things people do wrong when doing XYZ trick. I do everything within my skill level to make sure I don't do those same things wrong. I stick with the basics of the trick and work from there along that process I usually find what works for ME after time.

I still want to know all the secrets so anyone?

I noticed that I'm doing the mexiroll and not the clean backroll...Probably I'm doing something of both...that I've to correct first... Confused

I think about sitting on my back foot, like 75% of my weight is on my back foot and I keep it that way all the way around and try to land tail heavy. This does two thing for me it makes sure I ride up the entire wake and push with my back foot properly. On the way down it makes me focus on landing on the peak of the other wake and not too square.

I pull my best rolls when I stay nice a quite with the body and just load the tail into the wake.

voegi, if u find yourself doin a mexi roll .... then u just need to make sure and throw your head straight to the side .... instead of just angled away .... think thats how u get the tip over tail rotation
