plz don't lol at me, but i've always thought i've done em right on a wakeboard so i was wondering if i could get a bit of clarification.

I've always kinda squated and lifted up kinda hopping up and using my back as a spring. is this right ? i always thought it was as i have no problem getting about 2 1/2 ft. ollies on a big heavy 142 board from like 2001.

sounds about right, something that will help your height is going faster, the faster you go the more "spring" you get from your back foot

Punkpenguin, thanks man, but i was talking to a buddy of mine and he said that it really helps to push your front foot down first to creat a little wake to pop off of Neutral

really just through your back foot "into the water". this will will cause the water to push you back up. And yesPunkpenguin, speed does help but it also makes it a little harder to do the motion.

trying shifting your weight from your front to back in a snappy way. As you shift your weight pick your front foot up try to bring your front knee to your chest, as your doing this you should be applying alot of weight to your rear foot. As your front foot peaks in height bring your rear knee up to your chest to level the ollie.

it also helps to not be on edge, try edging really hard into the flats on your heelside edge then completely backing off your edge abruptly. There will be a pause (just like if you were gonna hit the wake) before the boat will catch the tension and bring you back towards the middle. This pause period is your key time to ollie.

I practiced ollies like these, and with good timing i have done ollie 3's, cleared bouis, ollied docks, ect.

Da Kamp, I just cut out on my heelside edge, flatten out, push my back foot down into the water while lifting my front foot up and then I level out the board in the air.

Here's another topic with some good tips on ollieing. http://forums.wakeboarder.com/viewtopic.php?t=69678

Da Kamp, the whole point of the putting the weight on the front foot is to sort of help you load up to where you can stomp on your back foot hard. If your weight is already on your back foot, you won't be able to really get a good stomp. You can get a decent ollie without the stomp, but you maximize your height with the stomp. This is the one trick out there I'm consistently good at.
