|
|
ok, first off ive been boarding for about 2 months, and can w2w, but i need to get my rope out of the water. the hooks are so low, the rope is in the water up by the boat. my boat, its a 76 o-b glastron futura 16'. it was FREE, and it pulls my ass up. is it worth it to get, build a tower or pylon for this hooptie? or should i sell and get a better/ bigger boat this winter???? |

Looks like an ideal candidate for an insanity Pylon. If you take a look at insanitypylons.com you'll learn all you need - it'll cost you less than $300 bucks and you can take it to your next boat with you
Other option is fabbing something similar up yourself (depending on your skills and access to materials) - might cost you 60-70% so there would be a possible saving but unless you knwo what you're doing I'd avoid this option.
DIYWAKE.com is a great resource for guys like you that are happy to get stuck in. _________________ www.AxisBoats.co.uk | www.Malibu-Boats.co.uk |

tower should be going to the powder coater next weekend, just smoothing everything out this week. im still thinking about the color for the tower, or if i should paint the boat to match, this option is wide open for me. (my brother is a painter) and should i add another bar across the top to mount the speakers from? or just mount them off to the side? or on top? the rope mount is only 6'4 from the floor. and for the foam, i used the claw end of a hammer, worked great! the pliers were to slow for me.
either way, should work great! surprisingly stiff considering it used to be a porch swing. _________________ trying to find a $5-7K usable saltare if anyone knows of one. |

gasolene / laquer thinner will turn the foam into goo pretty fast.
just out of curiosity, why did you do the s bend on the front bar? will a skier be able to flex the tower? |

turbohoje, thats the way the bar was when it was a swing, if i turned it around, it flexes more, the way that i have it transfers all the preasure down to the gunnels, and throughout the hull. it really suprised me how stiff it turned out. i am able to pull the boat backwards with a rope from the rope mount. no flex. the only flex that i will end up getting, will be from the hull cap. not bad for having 25$ into supllies into it. _________________ trying to find a $5-7K usable saltare if anyone knows of one. |
