Has anyone rode behind this boat or driven it. I am planning on a demo real soon. I just wanted to get some opinions on the wake wieghted and unwieghted. One of my kids is affraid of big wakes but everyone else wants a monster. Is this the right boat? How does it handle? Thanks in advance for the responses.....

Can someone please post a picture of this boats wake, I can't wait to see what it looks like. I've spent a lot of time behind my buddies d-drive sanger and it has a great wake for a d-drive, so the V215 has got to be awesome.

This boat is new so not many people have seen it let alone been able to ride behind one or play around with weighting. I'd give the boat a season to let Sanger work out all the details.

I saw the boat out at my local lake a couple of months ago (the Sanger factory is in my backyard practically). They were testing it out, getting the bugs out. It looked like a sweet wake. I've got a V210 and I am extremely happy with it. I'm sure the 215 will be even better.

bump...

Any new opinions on the 215? My bud is about 4 hours away from buying one and I'm looking for dead-honest opinions...

K-dub, he already tried that with Boat Country - 46k OTD with the stuff that he wanted vs. 41k OTD for the 215...

Trust me, if you could do a VLX for 41k OTD and deliver today-tomorrow he would most likely do it. The deal-maker/breaker is his trade in - 1995 Centurion 19' LaPointe Tru-Trac edition... these guys are giving him 10500...

Focker, have you seen the wake in person or are you basing that on the pics that were posted on WW?

K-dub, termites dont eat through fiberglass to find wood you monkeys!!! And who cares anyhow - the stringers are under lifetime warranty...

Anyhow, here is the boat which ended up closer to 45k after upgrading to triple ballast, black scorpion motor, bimini, custom (will cover the tower when folded) cover, stereo, and a few other options. IMO without a doubt this boat competes with the big "3" fit and finish wise. Very clean, comfy and very well thought out. One of the sweetest features is the placement of the rear ballast - along the sidewalls - so it leaves the entire storage area free for your junk - or for more ballast! Twisted Evil

Hopefully we will start going out to break it in next weekend... will post rider-less Crying or Very sad wake pics then.

BTW the pics on WW were on the tester/prototype for this boat - they apparently moved a strake further upward and now the wake is supposed to be as good if not better than the 210... We will know soon enough! Mr. Green

Here are some pics from the maiden voyage. We put 4.2 hours and burned about 1/2 tank of gas on day 1. So far, this is the quietest v-drive I have been on - 30 mph and conversations were not had by yelling.

As for the wake pics: no ballast, no massive ice chest filled with cold beverages (although we did have some), 3 people on board. These pics do not do it justice - I will take some as soon as it is broken in.

Just a note to anyone who is getting one of these V215's: There is a recall on the TRAILER - the bunks are not high enough so the prop does not clear the prop guard when powerloading.

Sanger has a retrofit kit for the trailer the dealer should install at no charge.

That's a pretty good wake with no balast. Exactly how much ballast is in that thing?

I think 1150.... 650 in the rear and 500 in the front. Cool thing is there is space for sacs in the storage compartments next to the motor and enough space to add another between the cockpit and the bow.

I can't wait to ride when all the ballast is filled... should be siiick!!!

Um if Matt loads up his other sacs like 1150 in the rear 1000 in the front... Shocked

Nor*Cal, that's the idea. Hell, Sanger even thought ahead and put accessory outlets in the bow and in the rear storage... perfectly located to plug in the pumps! Twisted Evil

Hollywood, ? What is your problem?

I am completely serious - this is an issue I think other V215 owners would like to know about before they destroy their props on the prop guard. Neutral

eeven73, I would think you could ride 80-90 off and still get a solid wake. The real question is what will happen to it when we fill up the tanks - an answer I should have in a matter of weeks.

BTW - because of that recall problem (and the flush cleat install) the break-in timetable got pushed back about a week.
