08 vs 09 Slingshot Recoil Comparison pics inside.

both 142s

here you can see the tops. the 09 is covered in a bass-boat like glitter, everything is covered in it. well more like a really metallic paint.

heres the bottoms, the 09 is now glossy, over the 08s matte finish. and the warning label is now molded into the graphics, as were the 08s were just a sticker.

here you can see the edges, the 09 is much more like a typical wakeboard, and the perpidicular stripes are clear you can see right threw to the wood/foam.

and here is the biggest difference, the tips. the corners on the 09 are bobed. and on the 09 the thick part of the board is brought all the way to the holes, only the last 6" is the thin flexy part. as where the 08 the thin part starts 12-14" from the end.

heres the difference in fins. the 09s are clearer and alot shorter. also the material is different, and the internal threads are alot more pronounced to hopefully remedy the stiped fin problem the 08s had.

Additional notes:
the rocker between the two are identical.
the 09 is slightly thicker threwout.
board width is identical between the two.
theyve moved the boot holes out 1.5" further on the 09 model, .75" per side.

over all the 09 is MUCH stiffer. it was apperant there goal was to have the center of the board more that of a traditional board, and only the last 6" or so the real flexible part. nearly every change they made was a move in this direction. again over all the board in the middle is much stiffer and the outer tips the only really flexible part.

Nice write up. I was wondering about the fins, which I probably won't use but I might and I want shorter ones than my 08 if I do. I'm very interested in where flex tech is headed. I like the Sine boards with the bottom "features" (I would call them molded fins but some people on here call them channels and I wouldn't want to offend them) on a flex board. I guess it's a hybrid flex but it's definitely interesting.

Nice comparison. Just got my 09 company 142 severance. Lots of similarities between the two (09 SS), probably bc they are made with the same techniques and materials (rumor has it, they are even made in the same factory). Who knows. but nice job, dont see to many threads on boards with that much info. Cool

That's weird, I have the same 08 as you, but don't have that warning label on the topsheet.
