We all know I will mod what ever toy I can for my kids. But here's an idea of what you can do.
My only change would be some rubber on the front tires so he can steer, and a helmet.
Safe for work, just cool sound.

muckmeister, the seat belt is a ratchet strap. It's a good idea though, you see he hit the curb and it flipped, it could have just tossed him.
Rhawn, that poor kids gonna be deaf. Not to mention he poor powerwheel barely moves since it's weighted with another battery for the stereo.
jjaszkow, no kidding, I used to wear holes in my big wheels from spinning out.

I think that seatbelt thingy makes it more dangerous. In Kart racing I don't even think they use belts going 80mph+. Def needs a helmet tho.

| That's awsome. I'd love my kid to have a go kart to do burnouts with whenever i have a kid. I can just see the neighborhood kdis being jealous of that.

PimpinD2, probably converted it to a 24v system.
I'll be building a gocart of some sort. As my own project, I'd like to use a 500CC sportbike engine/transmission.

My son had the jeep - what I did was run two batteries in series and that stepped up the power pretty good
If you think the battery toys are pretty fun - wait until you put him on a dirtbike
I had my son on a PW50 (with training wheels) at 2.75 years old - I'd ride my BMX and he'd ride his dirtbike right next to me, around the neighborhood. We'd go for hours at a time
Those are fond memories

when my son was 5 we got him a 6volts dirtbike that you could ride without with training wheels. I hopped it up to 12volts and it would pull small wheelies and run almost 20 mph

PimpinD2, D88 is right. Those things run at 6V from the store. Convert it to 24volts, and put a car battery in there and hang on!!!!
J.M.B, That's what I was thinking, the kid knew how to do some good burnouts. You know he is gonna be hell on wheels when he's 16.

Think they should get him drunk and let him drive it to show the dangers of drinking and driving at a young age?

I think 18V would work better. We tried 24 and it burned up the motor pretty quick. Of course that may just have been because it was an older one.
