I'm throwing together some play lists for the mp3 on the boat this summer. Mostly old school skate punk on one list then some new rock on another.

Punk:
Black Flag
Agent Orange
Dead Kennedys
TSOL
Sex pistols
(old) Clash
Circle Jerks
Pennywise (ok not really skate punk, but....)
Offspring (same as above)
Meat puppets
Husker Du
Bad Religion
Fear

Metal/Hard Rock:
Clutch
Saliva
Buckcherry
Megadeth
Pantera
all I got so far, any suggestions, and f no I don't listen to rap, house, techno or anything mello.

My playlsts consists of.

Pretty much metal:

Slayer
Megadeth
Metallica
Amon Amarth
Pantera
Lamb of God.

Plus mellow music that I find in snowboarding/wakeboarding videos.

But most of the time when I am riding I will hear the ipod get changed because my friends/family don't like metal.

JeffreyCH, Padres boat, doesn't know how to work anything electronic so anyone else in the boat changes is it to there ipod. And if a really gay song comes on I just usually throw the rope and go on strike until they put something reasonable.

If they put on rap I am fine with that, but when I hear those songs that are just embarrassing such as some of this new stuff coming out. I just can't handle it.

MGMT will be on there for sure. Probably Kid Cudi, and then an array of rap and classic rock.

JeffreyCH, sad that I remember when those bands were new, not old school. had tickets to the dk once. when the venue found out what kind of band they were, cancelled the show 4hrs before. tons of rumors where the show was going to be, and ended up they played in an old warehouse downtown. we didn't find the show... pissed...

still have my "nazi punks f--k off" armband and 45lp around here somewhere Smile

I'm on a Boat (ft. T-pain) - The Lonely Island. I'm just gonna have that on repeat the entire summer. Makes up for time "I'm not on a boat" during winter. lol!

I got so much music for the boat, it is unfair to just call on one category. Lil bit of country, lil bit of rock and roll, little bit of rap, maybe even a little bit of Martin and Sinatra. Oh! and I can't forget about the blues!

see em live and you'll be hooked for life. Hearin closer to the sun in person is insane. his fingers move so fast on the strings it will blow your freaking face off.

No but really awesome band. Also saw a band called Fishbone with them. They were pretty good too. A little bit of Stoopid mixed with a harder rock sound.

COol! They have a sublime kind of sound to them which I dig. Funny though how diverse they seem from one track to the next. I dont know a lot about them yet. I just happened one day to search "reggae" on Limewire, found a couple of songs from them, liked it, so just searched for the band in specific. I have only about 14 or so songs from them.

Ill dig deeper and check them out more closely.

Check out the group "skindred". Along the same lines.

spyd4r, I don't think they are doing it to be real musicians. the guys even say in their intro song, "they wan't to be the best fake MC's on earth." It is just comedy man.

If I only had one CD I could bring on the boat it would still be 40 oz to Freedom...love just letting that one ride from beginning to end. A buddy of mine is obsessed with Slightly Stoopid and gave me all of their albums a couple years ago. Closer to the Sun is the only one I've really gotten into, need to get more of their stuff on the iPod rotation for the boat. I like KOL a lot, in fact I'm seeing them in Charlotte tonight, but I'm not sure how I feel about them on the lake...maybe some of the older stuff, but the newer 2 CDs don't seem like great lake jams.

My current Boat 2009 Playlist...work in progress includes the following:

Ice Cube - It was a good day
Slipknot - Psychosocial
Hold Steady - Stay Positiive
Green Day - Know your enemy
U2 - Magnificent
Elvis - Little Less Conversation Remix
Lita Ford - Kiss Me Deadly (...cougars go absolutely apeshit when they hear this song)
Flo Rida- Right Round
Snoop Dogg - Ain't no fun
Shinedown - Second Chance
Biggie - Party and stuff
Asher Roth - I love college (this will be last years Kid Rock All Summer Long)
RHCP - Breaking the Girl
Guster - Satellite (great cruisin song)
Kanye - Good Life (crank this one while leaving the marina)
Social D - I was wrong
Eminem - Crack a Bottle
Blak Jak - 500 Dollars
MF Doom - Deep Fried Frenz (this song is a fu*king jam)
Lil Wayne - Got Money
Jamie Foxx - Blame it
Peter Gabriel - Sledgehammer
Kid Rock - So Hott
Coldplay - Lovers in Japan
Almost - Say this Sooner
Iron Maiden - 2 minutes to midnight

You simply cannot have Iron Maiden in the same playlist as gayplay. I mean cold play. Please remove the offending song immediately.

Hardly, Coldplay actually has talent and gets to bang Gweneth Paltrow. Now Iron Maiden and Flo Rida, that's a bit of a contrast, I think 15 minutes are about up.

Everyone has different tastes of course, and Im sure a few of my selections could be ripped apart. My wife loves coldplay, I just dont get the attraction. Every song sounds the exact same in a different arrangement Confused

And I think Gweneth and the dood broke up recently. She is available!!
